‘Sustainable Transport for All’ was the overall theme of the 5th ADB transport Forum, held 12-16 September in Manila. Discussions throughout the Forum highlighted that a new level of ambition towards sustainable transport is needed based on the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

In a panel discussion on ADB’s Sustainable Transport Initiative 2010-2020, Deputy Director General BMZ welcomed how ADB’s transport portfolio has become ‘greener’  but called for more transformational projects, e.g. by supporting solar-powered transport systems. GIZ shared its experiences at a training on “Demystifying INDCs and NAMAs in Transport” and facilitated another training on “Sustainable Freight and Logistics in Asia”, thus strengthening the sustainable transport competence of officials from across Asia.
